The Squeal is terrible value-for-money... This is an excellent thing. Jagex should make Jagex's Squeal more attractive so that less people will choose to go to other sites for RWT. Just 1% of players can be used to finance xp gains. While I've never purchased an XP spin, my character has risen several levels from exp gained from the squeal alone.
Yelp was recently replaced by the dark trolling... I didn't realize the change until recently. The next time I log into the game or complete an adventure, I'll notice. Jagex might not be profitable. Then, keep the sound of a squeal. Give prizes that aren't lamps that are sought-after. They can also be traded! I got two of those silly fish masks at the squeal and I'm gleefully watching them skyrocket in price on GE (they're more than 3 mills each right now).
You find almost every update targeted at your player group to be entertaining and enjoyable (except the WoFibc ones). Yes! Jagex is doing lots of things well! Many complain about "the grind" which is what fueled the squeal. Jagex addressed that issue by introducing the squeal which allows people to accelerate their progress (and offering the skill lamps for a prize).
It's all well and good. However, it's the mix of selling spins for real cash and offering skill lamps as a common prize that's the issue. What's more, what's particularly irritating is the hypocrisy. Jagex screams bloody murder whenever individuals participate in RWT. But, they are the ones who run their own RWT schemes.
