NBA2K surpasses the NBA's shadow ahead of its next-generation launch

In less than a month the gamers purchased more than 5 million copies of NBA2K21. It's an astonishing number even for a series that has witnessed steady growth over many years. It's expected to be one of the most popular releases for the next generation consoles.

I first discovered Alex Abrines through NBA 2K16. Abrines was FC Barcelona's first-choice shooting guard. Abrines's model of a player looked not like the way Alex looks in reality, however Abrines was a formidable outside shooter. Abrines deep shooting was exciting, especially because he came to Oklahoma in 2016 and it was apparent that Abrines was able to fix the Thunder's shooting problems.

Situations Mode - NBA 2K20 was a full game. The various modes made it clear that the game remained fresh. It was surprising to me that NBA 2K20 did not come with an Challenge mode. The previous NBA 2K titles had a game mode that allowed players to play in real-life scenarios. The objective was to recreate events from NBA the past.

I think a 'Situations Mode' is a good concept as it will challenge current players. The 'Situations Mode' may not attract new fans to the title however, it will satisfy the needs of a grumpy fanbase. The lack of innovation is the biggest complaint of NBA 2K fans. A fresh, exciting mode is sure to keep the existing fanbase entertained.

Mamba Moments – The tragic passing of Kobe Bryant is shocking and deeply sad. The tragedy was in every way. Kobe will probably be included in NBA 2K21 in some way. I'm in love with the idea behind game mode where you need to replicate the most memorable Bryant events in the court. It's appropriate to Bryant. The player is able to play through Bryant’s most important moments as well as learn about his life. NBA 2K has previously had"Moments" mode which included Shaquille O'Neal as well as Michael Jordan. It's high time for Kobe to get the same treatment.
