ARLINGTON, Texas -- Adrian Beltre wasnt surprised to see Colorado intentionally walk new teammate Carlos Beltran in front of him to load the bases late in a one-run game. What happened next was all too familiar for the Rockies.Beltre singled in two runs in the eighth inning, and the Texas Rangers rallied late for the third straight game against Colorado in a 5-4 victory Wednesday night. You pick your poison in that situation, Texas manager Jeff Banister said of Walt Weiss move with first base open. Its a comfortable feeling to have one of those guys coming to the plate for you in those situations. So yeah, it will never get old talking about that. The first two comebacks were in Denver, where the Rangers had a three-run ninth for a 4-3 victory and erased a three-run deficit in the eighth inning of a 7-5 win. Texas extended its winning streak to five.In the first of two games in Texas, Colorado rookie David Dahl had a tying two-run triple in the eighth to extend his career-opening hitting streak to 16 games, matching Juan Pierres franchise record from 2000. He scored the go-ahead run on Ryan Raburns sacrifice fly.But Beltres bases-loaded single with two outs sent the Rockies to their sixth loss in seven games. It also gave the Rangers a happy ending on a day that started somberly with slugger Prince Fielders emotional announcement that he was following a medical recommendation to quit playing because of a second cervical fusion surgery on his neck.Colorado lost three of the last four on its just-completed homestand when leading after seven innings. And now this after their stirring comeback in the eighth.Well work our way through it, Weiss said. I feel like we have enough talent there to get it right. We just have to get on a roll.Jake Diekman (3-1) allowed Dahls tying hit before 30-year-old rookie Matt Bush pitched a perfect ninth for his first big league save.Jonathan Lucroy homered in his first home game since the deadline trade that brought him to Texas, giving the Rangers a 3-1 lead in the fifth.Lucroys solo shot was his fourth in six games with the Rangers and 17th this season, one shy of his career high with Milwaukee in 2013. The Brewers sent him and reliever Jeremy Jeffress to the Rangers for prospects on Aug. 1.It was also the first game in Arlington for Beltran since the deadline deal with the Yankees. He singled his first time up, but didnt get a chance in the eighth.Instead, Beltres hard grounder skipped past shortstop Cristhian Adames into left center off Adam Ottavino, the third Colorado reliever of the inning.Anytime youve got two future Hall of Famer-type guys, its a deadly combination, Lucroy said. In Milwaukee, we had (Ryan) Braun and then we had Prince right behind him in his heyday years. Theres no bullpen, theres no starter that wants to deal with that. Both Texas runs in the eighth were unearned after Mitch Moreland reached on first baseman Mark Reynolds one-out error with Boone Logan (1-2) pitching.DOUBLE THE FUNTexas starter Martin Perez got two ground-ball double plays to give the left-hander a majors-leading 31 for the season. He tied C.J. Wilsons Texas record from 2011. One of them was unassisted at first base by Jurickson Profar, who fielded a sharp grounder from Nolan Arenado and tagged D.J. RIO DE JANEIRO -- The IAAF said Saturday it has banned the only Russian in Olympic track and field from competition and that she is appealing the ruling. The eligibility of long jumper Darya Klishina was revoked by the IAAF based on new information it received last week, spokesman Yannis Nikolaou told The Associated Press. He would not specify what the new information is or who delivered it, though Klishinas attorney Paul Greene told the AP the case revolves around scratch marks on Klishinas doping sample bottles, identified as part of World Anti-Doping Agency investigator Richard McLarens work.McLaren has alleged that Russian security services were able to open supposedly tamper-proof bottles with the intent of swapping out tainted samples for clean urine, leaving behind telltale scratch marks on the glass. The basic idea here is that even a clean athlete like Darya is the victim of the state sponsored doping system, Greene added in a text message. At least thats the IAAF position.Greene said he had not seen the underlying evidence in confidential parts of McLarens report.Klishina, a former European indoor champion, previously was the only one of 68 Russians allowed to compete in the sport amid a massive doping scandal. The IAAF had accepted her application because she is based in the United States. The rest of the Russian team was banned over allegations of a widespread, state-sponsored doping program. The Court of Arbitration for Sport said it had received Klishinas appeal of the decision imposed by the IAAFs doping review board. The IOC and Russian Olympic Committee were invited to take part in the hearing. CAS said it hopes to issue its verdict by Sunday night.I am a clean athlete and have proved that already many times and beyond any doubt, Klishina said in a statement on her Facebook page.Based in the U.S. for three years now, I have been almost exclusively tested outside of the anti-doping system in question, she added, an apparent reference to the Russian anti-doping agency, which remains suspeended over doping cover-ups.ddddddddddddI am falling victim to those who created a system of manipulating our beautiful sport and is guilty of using it for political purposes, she said.I will take every possible effort to protect my clean image as an athlete, Klishina said. At this moment, I cannot help but feel betrayed by a system that is not focused on keeping the sport clean and supporting rank-and-file athletes, but rather seeking victories outside sport arenas. The president of the Russian Olympic Committee, Alexander Zhukov, condemned the IAAF decision. Overall, all of this looks like a mockery of the athlete by the IAAF, he said in a video message posted by the Russian Olympic Committee. The International Olympic Committee ruled out a blanket ban on Russia last month but imposed new rules which have barred some Russian athletes in various sports because their names were implicated in a report by McLaren, who alleged a major doping cover-up.McLaren said he had received leaked emails in which senior Russian Sports Ministry officials discussed whether or not to conceal doping cases related to hundreds of athletes across dozens of Olympic and non-Olympic sports. Some Russian athletes who were named in that report were able to regain their Olympic spots on appeal to CAS, although others were refused. If Darya Klishina is in the McLaren list, then the IAAF must have been aware of it for a long time, Zhukov said. They, as I understand it, only addressed questions to Klishina on Aug. 6. She answered them, and they only took this decision today, Aug. 13. Why it couldnt have been done while all the other federations were examining the problems with athletes who were in the McLaren list is completely incomprehensible.McLaren has said his investigation is continuing and that more athletes could be implicated as more evidence emerges.---AP Sports Writer Stephen Wilson contributed.
