Every NFL team begins the season with hope. We never know when a 4-12 team will suddenly turn things around the next year by discovering a magical rookie quarterback. Of course, we also dont know when an 11-5 team will suddenly encounter a cascade of injuries that drops them to the bottom of the league. Two?games into the season, however, and the picture has already become much clearer. Fans often overreact to how well or how badly teams play early in the season, but we absolutely dont overreact to how important those initial wins and losses are in the standings. Those games have the biggest impact on changing our expectations for which teams will make the postseason. Sixty-one?percent of teams that start 2-0 will make the playoffs, compared with 41 percent of 1-1 teams and just 10 percent of 0-2 teams. So we know that 2-0 teams have helped themselves immensely with early-season wins. But which teams have helped or hurt themselves most? To answer that question, we turned to the 50,000 season simulations we do each week for the Football Outsiders playoff odds report, and we compared this weeks simulations with those we did two weeks ago before the 2016 regular season began. You can find the full playoff odds report on?FootballOutsiders.com, and a full explanation of the simulation at the end of this article.Heres a look at the five teams that have seen their playoff odds improve the most and the five teams that have seen their odds drop the most?in the first two weeks of the season.Better odds1. Philadelphia EaglesOdds before season: 26.2 percent Odds now: 49.0 percentNo team has improved its playoff odds more than Philadelphia, in part because, according to Football Outsiders numbers, no team has played better than Philadelphia in the first two weeks. Of course, thats before opponent adjustments, which we dont apply to our metrics until after Week 4. Cleveland and Chicago arent the toughest?teams to play. But even after we account for the quality of those teams, these Philadelphia wins will still look impressive. Kyrie Irving Shoes Free Shipping .ca.
