Shortly after Japan were eliminated from the Asian Cup's quarterfinal round on penalties for their earliest exit since 1996, JFA chairman Kuniya Daini was asked if Aguirre would remain in charge of the Japan national football team.
"Yes that is so," Daini answered. "He's done well."
